A student-led initiative for a reading revival
We are students who got tired of watching ourselves, and everyone around us, lose hours to the scroll. So we started a bookstore: original books, honest prices, and a simple way to order.
Who we are
The Book Club Store is run by students. We started it to help more Indian readers build a reading habit, and to help people get out of the trap of doomscrolling: the endless, thumb-driven loop of short videos and feeds that eats an evening before you notice.
We call the people stuck in that loop the “zombie pandemic”: zombies who are always glued to their screens. We are not against phones. We are against losing every free hour to them.
You will find us on Instagram at @thebookclub._store. That is where we talk to readers, take orders and answer questions.
Why reading, and why now
Reading is the antidote to a lot of modern 21st-century problems. A feed asks for a second of your attention, then another, then another. A book asks for a little more and gives it back with interest.
Reading gives you room to think, learn, imagine and question. A good book can introduce you to ideas you would never have searched for, put you inside a life that is nothing like yours, and bring you back to your own thoughts.

Original books. A better reading experience.
We sell original books, with supplies coming directly from publishers. Our prices are set at realistic levels, because a book that is made properly costs something to make.
We do not sell pirated books.
Piracy is wrong, and it hurts both sides. Authors do not get the royalties they earned for their work, and readers do not get a good reading experience. Here is the difference you can feel in your hands:

If a price looks too good to be true, it usually is. We would rather charge a fair price for a book you will finish than a tiny price for one you cannot read.
We supply original paperbacks and hardcovers, collected from publishers, so that you can enjoy reading without compromise.
How ordering works
We kept it simple on purpose. No account to create, no card details on a website.
- Browse the store and add your books to the cart. Search by title, author or ISBN, in English or हिन्दी.
- At checkout, enter your name, phone number and full delivery address with pincode.
- Copy your order. It already has your books, prices and total in one message.
- Open our Instagram chat (or email us at thebookclubstore1@gmail.com), paste the order and send it.
- We confirm availability, delivery details and the final amount with you in the chat.
- Pay by UPI as confirmed in the chat, and we send your books.
Prices marked * are estimates and are confirmed by the seller before you pay.
Books delivered to your door
We deliver through courier companies and India Post, so your books can reach you across India. Whether you like the feel of a paperback or the sturdiness of a hardcover, we want it to arrive in good shape.
Delivery availability, charges and estimated arrival times are confirmed in your Instagram chat or email as part of the ordering process.
Simple UPI payments
Payment is made via UPI. After you send your order, we confirm the details and share the final payment information in the chat. Nothing is charged on this website.
We want the process to stay straightforward and clear, with no unnecessary complications.
Five small habits to scroll less and read more
You do not need a big reading challenge. These work because they are small:
- Swap the first scroll. Read 10 pages before you open any app in the morning or at night.
- Move your phone. Leave it in another room for 20 minutes while you read.
- Keep a book where your phone usually sits. On the bed, in your bag, by the dining table.
- Carry a paperback. Queues, commutes and waiting rooms are free reading time.
- Quit books that are not working. Pick another. The goal is the habit, not the pile.
Our mission: less scrolling, more reading
We want to contribute to a stronger reading culture in India, one reader and one book at a time. Our goal is simple: help more people replace some of their endless screen time with meaningful reading.
Authenticity matters. A good book deserves a good reading experience.
Questions we get often
Are your books original?
Yes. We supply original paperbacks and hardcovers, with supplies coming directly from publishers. We do not sell pirated copies.
Why are your prices not the cheapest?
Our prices are set at realistic levels. Very cheap copies usually mean compromises on print, paper or content. We would rather you get a book that is complete and comfortable to read.
How do I place an order?
Add books to your cart, fill in your delivery details, copy the order, and send it to us in our Instagram chat or by email at thebookclubstore1@gmail.com. We take it from there.
How do I pay?
By UPI. We share the final payment details in the chat once your order is confirmed.
How will my books be delivered?
Through courier companies and India Post. Delivery availability, charges and timing are confirmed with you in the chat.
Why do some prices have a star (*)?
A star means the price is an estimate. We confirm the exact amount with you before you pay.
I cannot find a book. What should I do?
Message us on Instagram with the title and author, and we will tell you what we can do.
